How I Made $4618.58 in June by Blogging & Pinterest

Hi all & happy weekend! Over the past couple of months, I have been getting questions on blogging, pinning, & how to make money from blogging. I thought I would answer one of those questions now & let you in on what I’m making on my blog and how I’m doing it!

If you want to learn how to start a money making blog, check out my blog post here for step by step instructions!

The question you might be asking is “Why share?”. Well, my simple answer is why not! I’m not one that wants to hide the ‘secrets’ to success, I want other people to start blogging, start their own business & know it’s not completely impossible. Honestly, if I can do it, so can you!

So now for what I made:

Affiliate Links: $285.57
Google Adsense: $604.74
Promoted Posts: $3728.27

This brings me to a grand total of $4618.58 for the month of June. To be honest, this is on the lower side of what I have been doing monthly for a few reasons. I went on a loooooong bachelorette excursion for a friend that was a week long and I (stupidly) did not have any media scheduled.

In the month of June, I also switched blogging platforms, domain names & removed a lot of the ads on my site. Woof, it was a lot to do & it was a struggle. I’m starting to get a handle on things now, but I realize there were so many things I could have done to make the transit smoother.

For this month, these are the affiliate links I generated the most earnings from:

BlueHost (the BEST way to host your blog)
Amazon Associates
RewardStyle (I’ve linked to my most profitable post)
ShareASale (a really awesome affiliate site that has thousands of brands to choose from!)

Why these three?

  1. BlueHost is an incredible blog host. They have the absolute best customer service which is saving for me because I’m not as computer savvy as I would like people to believe. They have one of the lowest price points you can find for a host – it is only $3.95 a month which is even cheaper than my favorite cold brew coffee at Starbucks. And finally, once you join, it takes a click of a button, one button, to integrate into WordPress. From there you can pick free themes and start blogging.
  2. Amazon Associates is really a no brainer for me. I am on Amazon daily and have at least 2 shipments a week from them to my front door. They are a brand I trust and their affiliate program has great incentives.
  3. Rewardstyle was the only platform I went into without really knowing it too well – I was basically trusting reviews I found online. So far, it has been a great way to earn extra cash. This is the perfect  platform for you if you are a fashion blogger – seriously look no further. But the platform does work for all niche’s – you can link to almost any product on the web and get a commission – I mean, how cool is that? If you need an invite, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me in the comments below or via email ( – I’d love to help!

My July goals are to get back on track with blogging and create 4-6 new posts per week. I am also researching new affiliate and ad platforms.

I know this was a very top-level look at affiliate marketing, but I’m not sure if this is the content my readers want to see. Let me know below if this was helpful or if you would like to see more posts about blogging, affiliate marketing, how to make money from blogging, pinning or something else!
