I love pizza. Like a pizza fanatic right here. And living in New York, I am absolutely SURROUNDED by incredible pizza on almost every street. Smelling the incredible flavors wafting from the slice shop to the street is almost too much to bare, so I head home and make homemade pizza that could rival any parlor or hut.
I have two main crusts that are my go-to for pizza night: cauliflower crusts (I have my favorite brand linked here) and this turkey crust. Both are really good, really light and totally hit that pizza craving.
Ingredients
1 lb ground turkey, 98% fat free
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella (plus more to top)
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp fresh cracked black pepper
What To Do
Pre-heat the oven to 400F
.
Add the ground turkey, cheese, and seasoning to a bowl. Mix to combine.
Place the mixture on a piece of parchment paper on a pan and spread into circle or rectangle, about 1/2 inch thick.
Bake for about 20 minutes until it starts browning a little.
Remove from the oven and add your favorite toppings. Mine was covered in a little more mozzarella, a sprinkle of parm, Applegate turkey pepperoni and sliced green peppers. Broil it until the cheese starts to bubble, about 3 -minutes. Watch it so it doesn’t burn!
Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Slice up and serve!
