Are all cauliflower crusts created equal?
Cauliflower products have become the “it” healthy food this year – and with good reason! Cauliflower has a ton of benefits including its inflammation-fighting abilities, decreases the risk for heart disease & provides high levels of vitamins and minerals. The best part (especially for those of us on the Keto diet), each 100 gram serving of cauli is only 3 grams net carbs!

My favorite way to eat cauliflower is definitely as a pizza crust. Pizza is one of my all time favorite foods and being able to eat it every week without the guilt is the best. You can definitely make crusts yourself, but to be honest, every time I have tried making the crusts, it turns into a total Pinterest Fail! I have tried a ton of recipes from a few different sites and cauliflower crusts are one thing that seem like so much work with no payoff. The crust turns out soggy or bland or just kind of totally unappetizing. Nothing like pizza at all! Also, the amount of expensive ingredients and time spent making these crusts is just not for me. I don’t want to spend hours grating and squeezing out excess water from cauliflower and thats only step 1 – nobody has time for that!
So, you can imagine my excitement when I saw cauli crusts being sold online. But I did notice that even though there are plenty of brands and options to choose from, not every crust is created equal. SO MANY of the crusts were loaded with carbs, gluten, wheat and corn. All of these are a definite no-no on the Keto diet. Some of the cauli crusts were coming in at over 200 grams of carbs! What’s the point then?!
The ONLY crust I have found so far that comes close to working for the Keto diet are from Cauli’flour Foods. Their crust is made with just four ingredients: cauliflower, mozzarella, eggs and whatever seasoning you get in your curst (they have Italian seasoned crusts, jalapeño, etc). In addition to their clean ingredient list, each crust has only 3 grams net carbs (6 grams carbs total)! That’s 3 net carbs for the WHOLE PIZZA!
Not only are the macros great for these crusts, but they taste absolutely amazing! They have a crispy, thin pizza texture and you really can’t tell there is cauliflower in them. They only have a faint taste of cauliflower, but actually pick up the flavors of your toppings plus the seasoning and spices of each curst flavor.
They also have plant-based crusts which are made with flax meal and are a perfect alternative for anyone that is vegan or has food allergies!
They If you take a look at the reviews on the products, people are flipping over these crusts. I also probably eat at least one crust a week as either a pizza or even cut in half and used as a wrap!
